Usage With Safari
GearConnect uses various modern web standards, and while we strive to support all browsers, Safari does not fully support some of these standards, which may result in limitations or issues when using the application.
Browser Recommendations
While you may continue to use Safari, we recommend using a Chromium-based browser like Chrome or Edge, or Firefox for the best performance and full feature compatibility.
Where feasible, we have implemented workarounds. However, Safari has partial support for some standards we rely on, which can impose limitations outside our control.
Known Safari Issues
The following issues have been identified when using GearConnect with Safari:
- Pro Status Updates: After upgrading to Pro, Safari may not reflect the updated status without logging out and back in.
- Input Alignment: Certain input boxes may appear misaligned in the interface.
- Hover Disappearance: Gear and items in the drawing may disappear when hovering over them.
- Button Border Inconsistency: Borders around UI items like buttons do not appear with proper and consistent sizing.
- Animation Issues: Animations do not play correctly, including loading screens.
- Library Editor Preview: Timing issues with loading states may cause the Library Editor to not always center selected gear in the preview.
- PWA Installation: Safari has limited support for installing as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which may lead to installation errors.
- Drawing Exports are Missing Text: When exporting drawings, text labels may not appear in the exported file.
