Edit Menu

The Edit Menu is accessible when working inside a project as it contains project specific options.

Managers are used to manage the project’s resources. You can access them here, or via the Manager Menu in the top right corner of the app.

The Layer Manager is used to manage the layers in the project. You can add, remove, and update layers here.

The VLAN Manager is used to manage the VLANs in the project. You can add, remove, and update VLANs here.

The Port Manager is used to customize connector colours in the project. You can set custom colours for any connector type here.

The Cable Inventory Manager is used to manage your cables in the project. You can add, remove, and update cable types here.

The Project Settings Dialog allows you to change the project’s settings. You can change the project’s name, version, and other drawing settings in the dialog that appears.

Step back one snapshot. Also available via the Undo toolbar button on the Draw and Report pages, or with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z. Requires Local Mode.

Step forward one snapshot. Also available via the Redo toolbar button on the Draw and Report pages, or with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Y. Requires Local Mode.

When on the Report Page, this will copy the selected cell or cells to the clipboard.

When on the Report Page, this will paste the copied cell or cells from the clipboard to the selected cell.

When on the Draw Page, this will allow you to edit the label of the currently selected item.

When multiple items are selected, this opens a dialog to edit labels for all selected items with optional auto-numbering.

When on the Draw Page, this opens the colour editor for the currently selected item.

When multiple items are selected, this opens a dialog to edit colours for all selected items at once.

When on the Draw Page, this will duplicate the currently selected item in the drawing.

When multiple items are selected, this will duplicate all selected items. The same keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+D) applies.

When on the Draw Page, this enables resize handles on the currently selected item, allowing you to manually adjust its size. Only available for single selections.

When on the Draw Page, this will lock or unlock the currently selected item in the drawing. When locked, the item cannot be moved or edited.

When multiple items are selected, this toggles the lock state for all selected items.

When on the Draw Page, this will remove the currently selected item from the drawing. Gear items will still be available in the My Gear Pane where you can fully remove them.

When multiple items are selected, this removes all selected items from the drawing.

This submenu contains actions specific to gear items. All options require a single gear item to be selected and are only available when the gear is unlocked. These actions require Local Mode to be enabled.

Toggles the selected gear between Detail Mode and Standard Mode. The gear is rebuilt and connections are remapped where possible. Also available from the right-click menu and the General Settings Pane.

Opens the Library Browser to select a replacement item from any category. Useful when swapping out one piece of equipment for another. Also available from the right-click menu.

Opens the expansion card picker pre-populated with the current configuration. Only enabled for gear that supports expansion cards. The gear is rebuilt with the updated expansion card setup and connections are remapped. Also available from the right-click menu.

This submenu contains actions specific to connections.

Opens the bulk connection creation dialog for the selected connection. See Bulk Create Connections for more information.

Enables node editing on the selected connection, allowing you to add, move, or remove routing nodes. You can also access this from the Selection Toolbar when a connection is selected, or enable Node Edit Mode from the Draw Toolbar to edit nodes on any connection. See Node Edit Mode for more information.

Removes all routing nodes from the selected connection(s), resetting them to direct paths.

Opens a dialog to change the line style of the selected connection(s). See Line Style for more information.

Tag Preference (Pro feature)

Choose Use Auto Tags, Show As Tag, or Show Full Connection to control how the selected connection(s) are displayed. See Connection Tags for more information.

Tag Label (Pro feature)

Section titled “Tag Label ”

Choose Tag Label: Gear Only, Tag Label: Gear and Port, or Tag Label: Port Only to control what text the tags of the selected connection(s) display. These are only enabled when the selection includes a connection that is currently shown as a tag. See Tag Labels for more information.

This submenu contains actions specific to gear groups.

Resets the auto-sizing behaviour on the selected gear group(s), allowing the group to automatically resize based on its contents. The group will resize on the next movement update (when either the group or any item inside the group is moved).

This submenu contains actions specific to text boxes.

Opens the text editor for the selected text box, allowing you to modify its content.

Opens a dialog to adjust the background opacity of the selected text box(es). See Text Box Opacity for more information.

This option will reset all the items in the drawing back to be relative to 0,0. This is useful if you have moved the items far from the origin and want to bring them back. For the most part however, you probably won’t notice the origin as it doesn’t affect your workflow.

When on the Report Page, this will automatically resize the columns in the report to fit the data in the cells.

When on the Report Page, this will reset the columns in the report to the default size, which is the size of your window.

When on the Report Page, this will expand all the column groups in the report.

When on the Report Page, this will collapse all the column groups in the report.

When on the Report Page, this will lock or unlock the currently selected report. When locked, the report cannot be modified, including filters, sorting, and column changes.

When on the Report Page, this will discard any changes made to the report and revert to the last saved version.
