  3. Release the mouse.
  4. Toggle Gear Group Drawing Mode off by clicking the Draw Gear Group button again.

Gear Groups

Auto Size

Groups are magnetic, so when you move a gear item close to a group, it will snap to the group. When you move gear inside a group, it will resize to fit the new items. When you move a group, all gear items inside the group will move with it.

You can disable the auto sizing of groups by right clicking on the group and selecting Resize. You can then resize the group manually via the handles that appear. After this point it will not auto resize to the groups that belong inside it. To re-enable auto sizing, right click on the group and select Reset Auto Resize.

Group Label

A label will attempted to be auto generated based on what is in the group. For example, if all gear items in the group are the same name, the group will be named that. If they are part of the same category, the group will be named that instead.

If a group name can’t be auto generated, no label will be set by default. You can either change the default label or add a new label by right clicking on the group and selecting Edit Label. You will be presented with a dialog to change the label.

Group Colour

Default group colours are a blue gradient with a white label. You can change this by right clicking and selecting Edit Colours. Like with regular gear items, the Primary Colour is the background and the Secondary Colour is the border.

The label colour is determined by your your app’s theme, either dark or light mode, for better visibility.

Duplicate Group

You can duplicate a group by right clicking on the group and selecting Duplicate. This will create a new group without the gear items inside it. You can then drag gear items into the new group.

Remove Group

You can remove a group by right clicking on the group and selecting Remove. This will remove the group but not the gear items inside it. The gear items will be left in the drawing.
